Ballet is the special dance style that originated in the Italian renaissance in the 15th century and moved to many other countries such as England, France, and Russia. Ballet dancing can be learnt from ballet schools from any part of the world where every school teaches their culture and art through dance. This type of performance dances are performed and choreographed by experienced and trained artists and these days acting and mime is also included. Ballet dance uses every muscle in the body, and this type of dance requires more practice to master, and now this dance has developed into many forms such as neoclassical ballet, modern dance, and expressionist ballet.

Classical form is the formal dance style and the methods in this style are very traditional as well as varies based on the country of origin. Highly famous dance methods are the Italian method, the Russian method, New York City method, the Danish method, Royal Ballet School methods, and the Royal Academy of Dance. Another style, neoclassical ballet method also follows traditional techniques, but this method is less rigid and the spacing is very complex than classical form. Contemporary form uses both styles of modern dance and classical form.

To practice ballet, a person requires resilience, strength, grace and elegance and ballet can be learnt at any age. Shoes play an important role in the ballet dances and most well-known ballet dancers like pointe shoes as they make them lighter and delicate while dancing. Ballet dancers wear tights and leotards during classes and rehearsal and ballet skirts or tutus during performances and recitals. Ballet dancers raise their body to go up on tip of their toes and pointe shoes help them a lot during dance.

There are five important positions in the ballet dancing and in the first position the feet faces outward and the heels touches and forms a straight line. Then, the feet soles are turned out completely making about one foot separation between the feet such that the feet are completely separated. In the next position, one foot is moved in front of the other in such a way that the front foot meets the back foot middle point. Now, the feet are placed one step apart from each other without changing the position. In the last position, each foot touches each other where the toe of each foot meets the heel of the other.
