Beach baseball is favorable in certain situations, which explains why it has gained in popularity so much over the past few years.

For one thing it’s nice to get a change, because we’re all so used to having to play this American pastime on a baseball diamond in the park. Rather than feeling as though this is the only way you can go about it, now you can go to the beach with your friends in the summer and still get in a game of your favorite sport. Now it’s no longer a matter of having to decide whether to go practice baseball or go to the beach because now you can do both. Whether you’re the coach of a Little League team and want to switch things up a bit or just want to take the friends to the beach for a game, it’s important to be prepared.

All the same equipment is going to be needed for a beach baseball game as for a regular one. Gloves are important because they help to protect the hands of the players. When you’re throwing and hitting at balls for hours it can certainly wear down on the hands and even cause blisters. You will need balls and bats as well.

Different players may prefer to use specially sized bats, which is fine as long as they’re no more than 42 inches long and 2 ¾ inches in diameter which is the maximum size allowed for regulation baseball bats. Of course there are other pieces of equipment that players may choose to have as well. Some players and especially pitchers often like to have padding. Padding on the elbow for instance can help a pitcher who’s stuck pitching thousands of balls in a game.

Beach baseball is a lot of fun when you have all the right equipment. It’s a lot like regular baseball only it’s a change for the players because they get to play in a new environment. Sometimes it’s great to get a change. Beach baseball can be a lot of fun during the summer and is definitely worth trying out.
