Since your body needs to adjust to your new exercise routine, avoid running for more than 20 minutes during your first few jogging sessions. To avoid injuries, run on flat surface and wear comfortable running shoes. Running on an asphalt road is better than running on concrete road or unpaved surfaces. You see concrete roads have very hard surface and they could cause damage to your feet. On the other hand, unpaved roads may not be as hard as concrete but their surfaces can be uneven. Running on uneven surfaces may cause ankle sprain.
When it comes to your shoes, make sure that you use one of those running shoes with soft thick soles. The soft thick soles of your shoes will help absorb the impact of your feet on the road.
