Before you can get started with any worm farm you will need to decide just how many you want to have. This needs to be your first decision because it will determine how many containers you will need. Although the containers do not have to be particularly large in size they will need to be adequately sized to hold twenty to thirty worms with room for them to move around.

The holes should not be so large that the worms can escape but are important because they will provide drainage and ventilation in the containers.
